Value > Budget - Home updates that wont break the bank.

Value over Budget

When it comes to remodeling or updating your home, you don’t need an extravagant budget to make a significant visual impact. Here are a few ways to add value and updated aesthetic to your home without breaking the bank.

Clean Cabinets.
When you don’t have the budget for a full-on kitchen renovation giving your cabinets a facelift can make a significant impact. Paint or stain your cabinets to give your kitchen a fresh and modern look. A good rule of thumb is to keep lower cabinets darker colors and the upper ones lighter.

Make it brassy.
Replacing knobs & handles with new brass, brushed nickel or other polished metal pieces can dress up a room and typically run $5 or less each.

Concrete decisions.
Granite and Marble counter tops have been the go-to choices for kitchen and bathroom remodels. More recently concrete has been becoming increasingly popular and far less expensive. While the previous two updates are reasonable DIY projects, this one is better left to an experienced contractor. As is the following:

Raise the roof.
Slate roofs look and are a high-end update. However, there are some excellent synthetic slate options which are typically made from recycled rubber or plastic and look virtually identical to slate shingles. These are highly resistant to the elements, are lightweight, more economical and add a lot of visual value to your home.
